Discover the Birds of Randwick Environment Park
Randwick Environment Park is a gem! It’s an island of biodiversity, with its beautiful bushland and sparkling wetland offering shelter and food for wildlife, including lots of bird species.
We will slowly explore the area in the early morning when birds are at their most active, and hopefully we’ll see many different species of landbirds and waterbirds, from large and noisy ones to tiny, secretive ones. We often see them very close, and in stunning detail through the telescope. We’ll watch their fascinating behaviours, learn a few birdcalls, and contribute to conservation by adding our sightings to BirdLife’s National database, Birdata.
You will be guided by ecologist Renée Ferster Levy, who delights in birdwatching and seasonal changes as different native plants flower and fruit. She has observed over 80 bird species in and…
